120 Shadow Work Journal Prompts For Healing

What is Shadow Work?

Shadow work is the psychological process of exploring and integrating the unconscious parts of oneself, often referred to as the “shadow.” The shadow is the aspect of ourselves that we are not consciously aware of, but it can still have a powerful influence on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It includes the things we don’t like about ourselves, the traits we try to hide, and the feelings we try to suppress.

Shadow work involves acknowledging and embracing these parts of ourselves, rather than trying to push them away or deny their existence. By doing shadow work, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their motivations, and the ways in which their unconscious thoughts and feelings can impact their lives. It is a process of self-discovery and growth that can lead to greater self-awareness and personal development.

Benefits of shadow work:

  • feeling whole as a person
  • getting to know yourself better
  • healing generational trauma
  • better communication and relationships
  • more clarity around life goals
