What is a Vision Board?

Vision boards are powerful tools for manifesting your goals and dreams. They help you visualize what you want to achieve, and with design tools like Canva, creating a vision board has never been easier.

I created an in depth guide to creating a vision board that works, check out that post first to read more about the psychology behind them.

When to make Digital Vision Board?

Here are some ideas of the best times and occasions to create new vision boards:

  • Yearly Manifestation Board: At the beginning of each year, create   a visual representation of your long-term goals and dreams for the coming year.
  • Monthly Goals Board: At the beginning of each month, create a new digital vision board to visualize what you hope to accomplish in the upcoming 30 days.
  • New Moon Intention Board: The new moon is associated with fresh beginnings and new opportunities. Creating intention boards are an excellent way to celebrate the start of the lunar cycle and embracing positive changes in your life.

Step 1: Collect Photo Inspiration

To get started with your vision board, gather images that represent your goals. These can include photos, quotes, and anything that inspire you.

My favorite sites to find images:

  • Pinterest: Pinterest is a goldmine of aesthetic images. Search for pictures that resonate with your goals and dreams. Save them to a private board so you can update them often. Here’s the link to a board I made with a ton of vision board inspiration.
  • Pexels: Pexels has a wide range of high-quality, royalty-free images. Download the ones that speak to you and add them to your inspiration folder desktop.
  • Canva Photos: Canva has its own library of photos that you search and add directly to your board while working on it.

Step 2: Open Canva + Upload Photos

Now that you have your inspiration images ready, it’s time to open up Canva and start creating your vision board.

  1. Log in to your Canva account or sign up if you don’t have one already.
  2. Create a new design. Choose the dimensions based on how you plan to use your vision board. For a digital vision board, desktop size or phone wallpaper size works well.
  3. Next, upload all the photos you collected to Canva.

Step 3: Create a Layout

With your photos at the ready, it’s time to start customizing and laying out your vision board. Canva is very flexible with its design capabilities so you can get as creative as you want when making your board.

One way to create your board is to freehand a collage. You can simply drag and drop the images onto your canvas, stacking them in a visually pleasing manner. You could also use fames or templates, Canva offers a wide variety of them that can help you create a structured layout for your vision board. Find one that fits your vision and start placing your images within the frames or template placeholders.

If creating layouts isn’t your things I created some easy to use, customizable vision board template. All you have to do is drag and drop your images into the frames and customize the background color and fonts to your liking. They are available in my etsy shop.

Step 4: Finalize your Vision Board

Now that you arranged your board, don’t forget to add a personal touch, whether it’s family photos, inspirational quotes, or notes to yourself. Make it a visual representation of your manifestation journey.

When you’re done download your board as a high quality jpeg image and use it as your wallpaper. Your digital vision board serves as a daily reminder of your goals. Use it to stay focused on your aspirations and manifest your dreams into reality!
